Interesting to note that Nick Cave wrote the screenplay of the director's most recent film. I would imagine that McCarthy and Cave are kindred spirits.
Nick Cave and Viggo Mortensen also seem to have some things in common...both are thoughtful poets and artists with craggy but striking good looks- they even both starred in scary prison-themed films.
Viggo Mortensen also created Perceval Press, a small press publisher for lots of interesting art and music...
